My Creative Space

Did you catch my blog post about the Birdie Mobile how to here
Well last night I decided to stop just blogging about these great DIY's and actually try one - and here is the result! It is a little rough and ready (please keep in mind the only things I have ever really sewed are my school hems a million years ago and a draw string bag) - but I just wanted to try a quick one before I got the nice fabric and sewing machine out! Hardest part was turning it inside out and getting the stuffing in!

What do you think? Do you think it looks like the originals?

Children's Helping Tower

How great is this helping tower.
Better yet Ana White kindly provides all the "how to build it" here. Even better - it folds down to store under a bed / in a cupboard
Ana's website has loads of other instructional posts for everything from cubbies to shelves, to toys, to desks. Check them all out here
This tower is on my ever growing list of things to make.

Crayons and Paper

(image via suziebeezie and pinned by Desiree Swanson)

Yesterday I introduced crayons and paper in our house - and i have to say I am surprised what a hit it was. It held the attention of my 14.5 month old son for at least 10 minutes which is impressive if do say so myself! And he kept going back for more.

We may have to look at investing in one of these great drawing tables for the playroom! Created by Tian Tang Design, they are inspired by layered peeling grafitti - ingenious!
