Lunch Boxes with Love

My little man is currently being a little bit difficult with what he eats. Given he is only 15 months old I am sure it is but a brief phase - but if I had some of these great products from Lunchboxes with Love to make his lunches - it might be a different story!

Lunch Boxes with Love is the brain child of Cath, a mother of 2, who has fond memories or her mother's creative lunches. However it was an exchange trip to Japan which really got her love of all things Japanese started.

ABC Cutter set $12.95

Egg Moulds $8.95 / 2

Sandwich shapers $14.95

How popular would your kid be at school with a lunch like this

or this?

Custom Magnetic Paper Dolls

I dare say this is another instance of me living under a rock until now. I have just discovered Claudine Hellmuth. Claudine is a collage artist, author and illustrator and among many other beautiful products she produces these great custom magnetic paper dolls. Each doll comes with your custom face and a set of outfits, all packaged together in a reusable gift tin. You can even have additional custom elements created such as a wedding dress.

My List of 11 for 2011

I am not one for new year’s resolutions - it’s not that I make them, then break them, I have just never made any before.
Over the last couple of months I have had so many ideas and “things” I wanted to do and try, that they get a bit lost and then I never feel like I have done anything to my full ability. So hence, the reason for the list. And to top it off, this year I thought I would go all out and put them out there publically – there is nothing like a bit of accountability to put some pressure on yourself.
Deep breathe – here goes:
1.      Finish renovating the bedroom – this is an easy one as I just have silicone and pictures to go – but never hurts to start off easy!
2.      Convert the dining room into a multi-functional play / craft / dining room
3.      Renovate the kitchen including removing the overhead cupboard and install a new bench top
4.      Attempt to sew something that I would be happy for my son to wear in public (I am hoping to do this one as part of the Creative Collective January project – check it out here)
5.      Compile and print a photo book of my son’s first year – Daily Ollie’s
6.      Really work on building up my stock and sales in my online stores
7.      Post one card per month to a friend or family member
8.      Try and exercise once a week (minimum)
9.      Continue to blog a minimum of 4 times a week
10.  Go out more with my friends
11.  Spend more time outside with my family
OK – 11 seems like a nice achievable number – and quite appropriate being 2011! And of course I will be blogging about it all along the way.
What is on your list for things to achieve in 2011?

Kikki-K - I should have known better

I had a most unfortunate incident yesterday afternoon – I discovered a new Kikki-K store in my local shopping centre. I tried my hardest to refrain from entering, but the bright lights and red and white decorations lured me in. I may or may not have purchased a “drawn wooden alphabet stamp set”. Some of the lovelies on offer at Kikki-K at the moment:
(Clockwise from top left:)
3am spiral notebook
charcoal felt A4 portfolio bag
wooden stamp set cute
wooden apple stamp picnic
paper clips love heart
wooden alphabet stamp set drawn

There is so much more in store and online. But be warned – you will not come away empty handed!
PS – they blog too including great decorating and wrapping ideas

New Lotta Jansdotter Book - Open Studios

Last week I blogged about a couple of Lotta Jansdotters books here. Well - a new book is coming to town- "Open Studios" in which Lotta takes us on a tour through artists studios in Brooklyn, New York, Stockholm, and Tokyo.

Photographs showcase each artist's studio while personal interviews reveal how they organize their supplies, use their space, and where they find inspiration. Tours include insights into graphic designers, photographers, ceramic artists, printers, and more.
No point adding it to the Xmas wish list though as it won’t be released until Feb 2011. It will be on my Birthday Wish List for sure.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's "My Creative Space" when i will be "showcasing" my open studio (or mess of a dining room depending on which way you look at it!)
