Pinspiration - Bunny Onesie
For all those Pinterest addicts out there, here is a question for you: How many pictures have you pinned of things that you want to make or do and how many have you ACTUALLY made or done? My answers would be hundreds, and less than 5 respectively! So today I am starting what I hope to be a regular feature on my blog - "Pinspiration" - that is, things i have pinned to my DIY boards and Sewing Inspiration boards and ACTUALLY made or done.
First off the ranks is an easter appropriate onesie.
Inspired by this tutorial by Finley and Oliver
I made this:
Check out Finley and Oliver for the details on how to make a bunny onesie, and check out my Sewing Inspiration for Kids board on Pinterest to see more things I hope to make.
Have you ACTUALLY made anything that you have seen on Pinterest. I would love to see it - leave a link in your comments below to your blog post.

A Visit to the Emergency Ward
This week found us in the emergency ward with our son. I am actually a little surprised it has taken us so long to require a visit to the emergency ward. He is a rough and tumble little boy, forever covered in bruises and he is so attached to his Tiges and Weince cold pack, sometimes he likes to take it to bed with him! This time though it was due to his first asthma attack. It was not a totally scary scary visit - more of a: he is wheezing so took him to the GP who said you should take him to the hospital - so off we went.
Well he had a ball! They were well equiped with lots of toys and ABC2 on all day- so he basically played and watched TV for the 6 hours we were there. He was having so much fun I couldn't get a photo of him standing still and the dr said he couldn't admit such a happy looking boy! And the clown doctors - well they just rocked and had all the kids up on their feet batting the bubbles with paddles.
The only bad part was when he got his fingers stuck in the door - but the upside was he got an icypole

Toilet Paper Rolls Activities
Looking for some great rainy day activities - well I suggest you start collecting your toilet paper rolls now! They are super easy to make something special (and cheap!) with. Need some inspiration....
And some that i made for my little man - of course Toy Story Themed
Super heros by Made by Joel |
Robots by Life on the Gravelly Road |
Owls by Simple as That |
Rockets by Skip to My Lou |
Animal Collection as seen on Pikaland |
Hanging rockets via Factory Direct Craft |
Changing Faces via Little Learning |
These only took about 15 minutes to make - only change I would make next time is to paint the tubes first (doh!). If you wanted to make some of these yourself - let me know and I will email you the Toy Story pics which have been scaled to size.
Any more great toilet paper roll ideas you have seen?

The Play Room is Out of Control
The toys have well and truely overtaken our combined playroom / dining room and I think it would be fair to say it is no longer a dining room. This is what it looks like on a tidy day (i.e. before my son gets up):
A quick look around pinterest though leaves me insanely jealous - why doesn't my playroom look like these beautiful ones:
Do you think these rooms actually ever look like this except for when being photographed? What does your play room / area look like? How do you store your toys - particularly the big ones? Also if anyone knows where i can get large bags like the ones in the Design Sponge image above - please let me know!

Etsy Love - Creative Thursday
I am a little obsessed with "Creative Thursday" on etsy at the moment - i keep finding myself going back to the shop to check out the beautiful prints - only problem is I have limited wall space to put them. I did purchase some of the "Meet the Gang Fabric Bundle" with the intention of making a quilt - but I am too scared to cut it up so I am working on another way of using it (to be revealed soon I hope). Be sure to check out this beautiful shop and if something catches your eye - she just happens to be having a 5 year anniversary sale with 15% off store wide until 11.59 pm Thursday 8th March (I assume this is US time). Just enter the code "anniversarysale" at the checkout.

My Creative Space - Rocking the Headband
So apparently when you have a girl you are meant to go accessory crazy! I didn't think I would because I am not a girly girl by any means (I can't remember the last time i wore heals and I don't even own grown up lipstick!) but who can resist a baby in a cute little head band. There is just something so sweet about them. And being the crafty person that I am of course I thought i could make my own. And here is the result.
I bought all the materials on Craftumi (bands by Gemma Joy, Crochet Flowers by DeDor Supplies and buttons from collection at home) and they were a great nap time craft (i.e. it didn't take too long and it didn't matter if i had to go to Little Miss' room every five minutes to stick the dummy back in!)
And while Little Miss has been rocking the headbands this week. my little man has been rocking the raincoat. Looking forward to some more rain so we can team the raincoat with his new Charlie & Me gumboots.
Be sure to head on over to Our Creative Space to check out some great other crafty ideas and beautiful projects
